What is a Medical Weight Loss Program?

Medical weight loss refers to a structured, clinician-supervised approach to weight management that involves the use of medical interventions to help you achieve and maintain a healthier weight. This approach is typically recommended if you have a significant amount of weight to lose or you have struggled with traditional diet and exercise methods.

What is the Medical Weight Loss Program at Love Your Body?

At Love Your Body, we offer a medical weight loss program under the direction of our medical director and clinician, Claire Darang, APRN. Claire has extensive experience helping both men and women achieve a healthier weight with a structured, safe and supervised approach to weight loss.

If you are interested in our weight loss program, your journey looks like this:

Health History: You will first complete a new patient intake form so we can better understand your health history, lifestyle and current health status.

3D Body Scan: Next, you will complete a 3D body scan at our clinic in Clearwater, Florida. We use state-of-the-art technology to measure your body within 99.9% accuracy, including your weight, body measurements, lean and fat mass, including visceral fat (the dangerous fat that lives around your organs and can cause chronic disease and illness).

Pre-Consult: You will then review your medical history, look at the results of your scan and discuss your weight loss goals and challenges. If you are in another area, we can conduct a pre-consult over the phone, you just won't be able to receive a body scan.

Treatment Plan: Based on the discussion, we will discuss a personalized weight loss plan for you, which may include the medical weight loss program. The medical weight loss program may include a prescription to a clinically safe weight loss medication from an FDA approved lab (such as Semaglutide or Tirzepatide), IV infusion therapy, intramuscular shots, nutritional counseling, or something else. At this time, you will be advised to speak with our medical director.

Medical Intake: In preparation for your medical consult, you will be asked to complete a more comprehensive medical intake form.

Medical Consult: If you would like to move forward with the medical weight loss program, specifically the weight loss medication, your next step is to complete a medical consultation with our medical director via telehealth. She will review your medical history, discuss your goals and prescribe any necessary medication.

Medication: If you are prescribed a medication, such as Semaglutide or Tirzepatide, our medical director will prescribe it to you from an FDA approved lab, ensuring it is safe and not compounded. Our team usually recommends a 3-month supply to start. You will receive the weight loss medication conveniently at your home with all of the instructions you need to self-administer the weight loss injections. If you need help, you can always come in to the clinic and a member of our team will gladly walk you through the steps. You can also schedule a visit with our nursing staff to administer the drug for you (at an additional cost).

Nutritional Guidance: If you agree to take a weight loss medication, we highly recommended additional support from a nutritional coach who is trained in functional medicine. If you agree to this coaching, you will sign up for either 5, 8 or 12 sessions, and they will all be scheduled with you via telehealth. Together, you will focus on creating a balanced and healthy diet plan that provides the necessary nutrients to your body, while still promoting weight loss.

Follow Up Visits: Throughout your journey, you will be scheduled for several follow up visits to track and measure your progress. We will re-scan you and keep a record of your journey. Keeping track of your weight loss helps keep you motivated throughout the course of your treatment.

How much is the Medical Weight Loss Program?

The cost varies depending on your needs, and whether or not you are a member at Love Your Body. Membership is an affordable way to save big on your treatment plan.

A typical medical weight loss plan will cost $200 for the initial medical consult and $1,499 for a 3-month supply of Semaglutide, for a total of $1,699. That is about $141 per week.

Our members pay only $1,410, or about $117 per week, for the same program. They also save on follow up visits.

Nutritional guidance is an additional cost that can be as low as $123 per session, depending on the number of sessions you need. Our members do not receive a discounted price on nutritional counseling. We believe these services are critical to your success, so we offer the lowest price available regardless of membership status.
